The History of
Save What's History |
 |
Save What's Left is
an organization that empowers people to make significant
changes in their inter-city, suburban and rural neighborhoods.
Save What's Left is
a tool which young people can use to get involved in protecting
and preserving their environment. These skills and the willingness
to get involved will carry on into their adult life and they
in turn will encourage their children, so that each generation
will be more environmentally conscious than the one before.
Since its inception in 1987, Save What's
Left group has gained media attention that has spanned the
globe and Save What's Left has expanded to well over 800
chapters throughout the world. Save What's Left has been featured
in Good Housekeeping magazine, Seventeen magazine,
countless newspaper articles, and in Ralph Nader's book Civics
for Democracy. In addition, National Geographic produced a
special specifically about Save What's Left and their use of
the democratic process in saving the environment. In 1992-93
Save What's Left won the “Governor's Environmental
Education Award” for being the best environmental education
program in the state of Florida of both public and private
institutions. Save What's Left was additionally named
as one of the top thirty environmental programs in the world,
so three students were flown with their sponsor and the Save
What's Left to the June 5, 1991 United Nations in New York
to receive the honors. Our past is rich with many successful
campaigns, but our future depends on you and your commitment
in getting others involved in educating others through Save
What's Left.
Save What's Left has embarked
on the monumental task of educating the world's young people
regarding the need to care about what is left on this planet.
In fact, Save What's Left believes so strongly in reaching
neighborhoods around the world, that their primary goal for
the next few year is to enlist the support of major cooperate
sponsors and private so they may accomplish this gigantic,
but achievable goal. |

Dear Friends,
If nothing else,
we all have one thing in common. This planet, this mother,
our Earth. As the privileged stewards of this small piece
of space, we have the difficult responsibility of keeping
it in our care for as long as it is ours to keep. No man
or woman can do this alone, and that is why I started Save
What's Left.
I believe that every person, young and old,
has the potential to do good, the will to make things better,
and more to offer than they could ever possibly realize.
It is my dream that through Save What's Left we may all
realize this potential together, and for a cause that is
universal. What could be more important than protecting
this beautiful world we live in, and making it a better
place for all of us, and our future.
Save What's Left is not a radical group,
a bunch of "tree huggers", etc. Trust me, I've
been called worse. We are simply people who care, and who
are willing to work together within the system to achieve
great things. There are no laws that prohibit us from inspiring
positive change through positive actions. It all start's
with you! Why not get started today!
Thanks for helping us make a difference, and remember:
One person can make a difference!
